“Stole My Cool” is the most recent single off of her new album.

We had the pleasure of doing a Q&A with Jonet this week! See what she had to say below!

How does it feel being put in the same category Adele and Amy Winehouse?

Of course it feels really amazing. They are two of my favorite female artists! I also have a lot of other sides to me that I can’t wait to show in my music.

Who are your musical influences?

There are so many. My dad exposed me to so many different kinds of music growing up from big band to classic folk and rock and roll. Everyone from Frank Sinatra and Etta James to Van Morrison and Cat Stevens. In high school, I started to get into hip-hop and rap music. Lyrically I took a lot from listening to those genres because it showed me as a singer  that what I was saying could stand on it’s own if it was honest. The most influential album of my life though is Jagged Little Pill.  Who doesn’t want to scream every word to “You Oughtta Know”?

What are the top 3 most played songs on your iPod?

Right now? Ummm bangarang (skrillex), ho hey (the lumineers), and express yourself (diplo).

What is your TV guilty pleasure?

Beyond scared straight… I love prison shows?

What is your number one dating deal breaker?

I’m not that into dates right now.

What is your go-to outfit?

Well if you ask my roommate it’s my denim button down long sleeved shirt and a pair of underwear.

What do you feel is your best feature?

I really like my hair. I also have tiny feet.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Not first sight. Maybe first kiss, though. There’s a lot riding on the first kiss.

If you could trade places with anybody in the world for one day, who would you be?

Jay-z. (Yes, Dad.) haha

What is the one piece of advice you would give to your fans trying to pursue their dreams?

Pursue them. The easiest thing to do is give up. Sometimes the only thing that separates you and your dream is not giving in to the easy way out. Don’t let anyone tell you who you are or what’s possible for you!
